Anyone Else Seeing Major Drop in Sales?

Discussion started by Lore-3D

Hello folks! I've had a very very out of character sales month, and I'm interested to see if anyone else is having a similarly slow month. While I haven't been making a ton of sales, this month has been noticeably worse. I'm looking at 10% of what my average monthly revenue has been. I know the beginning of the year is generally slow, but even last month I was doing significantly better. Just curious to see what other sellers are seeing.

Not me. The month is not over yet, so good luck forward.

Yeah, I'm hoping to get some more before the end of the month, but even if I do, I'm not sure it will make up for it. Like, it's seriously a bad month, and very concerning. Glad to hear your still going strong, and thanks for the support!

One month of bad sales figures, is nothing to wonder or worry about. I had very miserable sales almost all last summer, to the point where i started questioning if there's something wrong with my store, or the market itself, but then suddenly sales went up and i had my record month right after almost the worst one. Having relativelly small model base, like yours, or mine, almost inevitably means that you will have big fluctuations in sales and i think this is especially true for you, since your models occupies small specific niche, which can lead to very good sales in one month and almost no sales in another. My suggestion to you - don't stress over this too much, unless you're basing your living on earnings from stock models sale. Keep doing what you're doing and eventually things will improve. Your models are unique, has good quality and are adequately priced - you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for your reply, Lemonade! Good to hear that this is not unusual behavior. Last year my sales really started to pick up, and that continued into January, so to have such a low month is a shock. Again, thanks for your input, its really appreciated!

I've noticed my sales have decreased here as well. Normally February tends to pick up after the Xmas season. Perhaps things will correct themselves in future months.

I'm having an especially bad month as well. Like you, around 10% of a normal month, and actually the worst I've has since starting a few years back, even worse than when I first started. But as mentioned before, the market is full of vagaries, so probably no need to panic yet, and let's hope for better next month!

After October 2021 my sales have dropped more than 50%. I don't know the reasons... (anyway "old" methods of "shamanic-wanking promotion" like "add at least one model weekly" doesn't works anymore). Since the sales has dropped I've lost motivation for private projects and declined all offers (fairly 90% it's silly offers in style "I need this item for 10$..." or offers without the prepayment.)

I think that from independent maker's position, situation with jewelry models looks horrible - every week there's new seller who dumps thousands upon thousands new jewelry models. It's seemingly impossible to swim in the sea of the same looking models.

@LemonadeCG, yes. When situation was "easier", administration done NOTHING constructive or fair. Since then things became only harder. Whatever, we have no alternative.

On my side also the sales were in normal levels. Nothing that got me worrying.
