Stargate Prime Collective (UPDATE)

Do to the fact that real issues are preventing me from making this game i will continue working on it on friday. From now on every single update for any game i make i will post a video daily on my website : abydos-3d-models.com. If there are some changes in the features or how much % we have done i will update them here and on my website and we have our forum so please let us know what you like and what you want to see in this game or any other.

UPDATE-1


The name of the game is Stargate Prime Collective

16 main features:

1) Dial and travel to more than 150 gate adressess  We have narrowed it down to 20 gate adresses.  1% complete

2) Choose more than 20 different weapons 0% complete
3) Help other civilizations on many different planets
4) Recruit and build the squad

5) Your squad can die, if so recruit new ones
6) Advance in ranks
7) Complete over 280 side quests
8) Weapon Specialization
9) Perks
10) Ronon’s gun  (As an optional DLC)
11) Play multiplayer with your character you created in singleplayer
12) Transfer money you earn after each misson to your multiplayer account
13) Explore ruins across the galaxy (it can be deadly)
15) Have a secret relationship with your oposite sex
16) No hidden charges, this game will be 100% free.

We are still looking for volunteers with possibilty of geting a permanent job in our country. 

Additional note: This is a discussion and your ideas are welcome. I ask you to help us make this game all the main features mentioned are editable and it means that a lot will be changed like 60 gate combinations instead of 150 etc... do to many insults i received from Indie DB i will remove the post there until we have something good to show. I already discussed this with Alex and he gave me a permission to post this here and wen we have alpha or even beta's they will be downloadable from CG trader website. I have a 5 men team including me but that is less then we need to pull this off. Please consider helping us, thank you.

What engine are you using to make this? Unity3D or some other? It would be good to know. The assets you need, what file format do you need them in? Are you using 3DS Max to develop assets for your game or another software?

Unity 3d i am a modeler with over 200 models in my database i am slowly posting them here. I hate to admit it but i do not now much about the assets. Any type of format since this game will be free to play. If you think you have something and want to see it in game send it to us on our email: abydos.3d.models@hotmail.com The only software i use is Sketchup 8 and i am considering downloading a lot of stargate models from sketchup warehouse. Please if you have any more questions let me know, here or on our website and we will (i) reply. Also we will post screenshots the moment we have something.

Ok so if your using Unity3D you would be using .FBX for the models and a compatible texture format like .tga for the textures. I don't believe I can help currently but might be able to in the future when things let up on our end. I'll keep your info though and might touch base with you at a later time. Good luck with your project.

Thank you this is the first good comment and positive opinion i had since i posted this on Indie forums. I am currently using colada.dae format for my models but i will soon convert them to fbx as you suggest using Blender. And please spread the word around we have our own forums on our website abydos 3d modes and you are more than welcome to help us. Thank you for your suggestions.

Well its not impossible to do. You will always find negativity because the majority of people are ego maniacs who only care for their personal glory. They have no concept of working or succeeding as part of a team environment. What I will say to you is this. If you truly have passion to do this. Don't give up and never quit no matter what people's response is to you or to your desires. You will get people who will come in talking big and produce nothing, you will get people who will backstab you but through all that, you will get people who will become close friends and loyal to you and the project. It will take time, it will be hard, but you will do it. I began in the modding world and it took me 6 years before I found loyal staff. Now we are our own company developing assets for other developers, also developing driver training simulations for racing teams and also developing our first standalone sim-racing title. You can do it if you have the right people on board and if you have the dedication to keep at it. So I wish you the best of luck and hope you will achieve the success you desire with a good and loyal team behind you. :)

Hey mate 1) Dial and travel to more than 150 gate adressess It all sounds very good but 150 might be stretching it a little. I believe that if you had like 30/50 but good ones, it would be great ! I'd play and replay a game over and over again if it had unique content for all their 50 maps but I'd get bored instantly if I were to play a game with 150 maps, all with the same content, art and look. So if I were you, I'd go with quality over quantity. 2) Choose more than 20 different weapons In terms of 3D assets this shouldn't be a problem as weapon models can be easily found all over the internet. 3) Help other civilizations on many different planets I like how it sounds but how exactly could/would we actually help them ? 7) Complete over 280 side quests The more the better, but scripting all these missions might be a bit too much for even a large team with a lot of time available. 13) Explore ruins across the galaxy (it can be deadly) Now this is something I'd spend my time on ... a lot. 15) Have a secret relationship with your oposite sex You better have some wicked sexy female 3d models :))) All in all I really like the idea. I'll go check out that site of yours and I may contact you soon.

Its funny and i agree ruins should be welcome. Please share this with others help us and one day we will all enjoy playing this game. And by the way you have a great idea when you said quality over quantity. Note that not all planets will have cultures some will be enemy planets etc... As for helping out other civilizations, well i was thinking of continues quest like guard the heard (sheep?) lol or find this or that etc... but there will be a chance were you can be attacked by hostiles or renegades at random as well as random size of enemy. I think 30'ish worlds will do and many of them will be planets from the series. Keep suggesting

One of the things you could do is have player/civilization affinity. What that means is the more you help a civilization by completing its quests, the more they like you and don't attack you. Another cool way you can utilize this is by having civilization/civilization affinity. So if one civilization hates another and you help the other, the first civilization will lower its affinity to you. So you as the player have to work out strategies to who you will help and who you won't help. It is virtually impossible to be liked by everyone unless that's what you want to go for but having that level of interaction could add some more complexity and extra positive gameplay content.

Not in sight at the moment but it may be like 90% possible we will add it in later beta version prior to the release of the game
