Saying Howdy and Looking for Feedback

Discussion started by Lore-3D

I've been on CGTrader for a few years now, but I've just recently started uploading more models. Over the past couple of weeks I've updated my profile and some of my older models to clean up and improve my presence on the site. So, as a more legitimate user of the site, I wanted to say hello to the rest of the community! And, if it's not too much trouble, I'd greatly appreciate any feedback on my models and profile. Anything would be helpful. Price recommendations, image adjustments, tags etc. Currently I'm uploading sets of medieval weapons, but I'll eventually diversify my assets and focus on other stuff. That's about it. Thanks for checking out my stuff!

To me your models look like they could be used mostly in games. but the poly count is way too big for games imo. I would consider adding some low poly versions of your swords. just a thought. good luck.

Thanks for the reply! The poly count is something I've been trying to lower. Right now the files I have up for sale do offer High Poly, Medium Poly, and Low Poly all within the same file. The only issue is that the simple textures I include don't work for any of the models other than the High. Overall simplifying my meshes is something I need to look in to. Thanks for the feedback!

Well, if you keep your uvs intact or make them fit your textures u would be able to use same textures for high and low poly models. Otherwice you coud bake your high poly textures to low poly objects. Google "render to texture" if you are 3ds max user, "transfer textures" if you use maya. Same workflow will aply for other 3d tools i suppose.

I'll have to look into that. Thanks! My strength is mainly in modeling right now, so any information on the other facets asset creation is helpful!

You can also try the collection feature on CGtrader to sell your models as a package.

Yes! This is something I've been looking in to for a while. I want to add a few more models before I group them all together, but the Collection feature is something I am very interested in. Thanks for the suggestion!
