I personally use Substance Painter to create PBR materials, and they do provide a 1 month free trial. But if you're interested in buying it I would strongly recommend getting Substance Painter on Steam, so you can avoid the subscription based payment set up by Adobe on their official site.
There's also plenty of youtube tutorials online that can teach you the process and workflow.
