What action will be taken against "3Dripper.com" ?

Discussion started by Blissbasket

As 3D artists, we pour hours of effort into creating high-quality models, textures, and animations. Tools like "3D Ripper Pro" are actively promoting theft of our intellectual property, allowing users to download paid content for free.

Don't use Marmoset. It's the best thing to do.

At the same time I think that the capabilities of such software are clearly exaggerated.

Yes, I thought the same, how it can be possible for them to extract the model from an online store. They're possibly spamming for some reason. Thanks for the reply :)

Think again. You can easily find videos on youtube that clearly demonstrates that extracting models from sketchfab with tools like 3d r i p p e r is as easy as clicking couple buttons and takes no more than a few seconds. That's despite the fact that sketchfab has much stronger security measures than marmoset player, which is basically completely unprotected from ripping. I've seen my models being sold by thieves that i've never made available for download - a mere fact of publishing a model in online 3d viewer is sufficient for it to be vulnerable for theft.

Can you please list the sites that are pirating your models so I can check if my models are there as well?

That r i p p e r gang is super aggressive with promoting their tool lately. Sketchfab is full of their messages, i've also seen them on the new fab platform and received messages from them here. They will not stop as long as there is money to be made from it.

CGT is actively removing those spam comments, I have got mail of 12 comments but when I visited this site all comments were removed.

Today I also got 1 comment on my model with link to this site. Now I see the comment is no more there. They are even so stupid that they are sending comments also on models which cannot be ripped (I do not use Marmoset). )))

They're not stupid, they just don't care were those comments will land. All they need is to spread as many links to their site on sites with high traffic as possible. Rest will be taken care of by google.

What pisses me most, is that people who use this tool are willing to pay to thieves, rather than to creators. For fuck sake you are paying to scumbags who would rob your apartment or bank account in a heartbeat given such opportunity.

That's what gets me everytime, some pirate websites have these point system people buy points to get a model but they can't get it directly from the artist.

They don't buy directly from the artist because these people who steal sell huge packs for pennies per model.

I am more surprised by the fact that they have an Instagram account with almost 40K subscribers.

For $5, I can buy a sample of Vitaly B's 'Megastructure' right here on CGT. The license agreement, even if you have bought it, doesn't cover re-selling bits of it.

Even if someone pays the artist for their work, there is nothing to stop them reselling it - license agreements are rarely enforced

I'll tell you a terrible secret: 3D assets are stolen everywhere from everyone and Vitaly Bulgarov is no exception. But unlike other platforms on CGT stolen models (if there is proof) are deleted very quickly even without DMCA.

I know all about the terrible secret - I used Vitaly as an example because his work is pretty well known, and yes, well done CGT for removing it after I reported it. It's only been up on the site since August. It's a shame no-one looked at every other 'asset' that user sells. They are all stolen, and are all for sale by their original artists here on CGT. You'd think this would be a good use for AI, scanning the artists uploaded images looking for similarities or direct matches with existing images - "Oh look, that's exactly the same as the components in this best-selling, hard surface kitbash pack!" Still, I guess if the stolen stuff gets sold, CGT still get their cut so...
