Missing half of my models

Discussion started by tersta

Hi Admins,

Is there maintenance work going on with the site? I'm missing half of my models from the My Products and the Public Profile views. The number of models  (25) still shows up on the Public Profile column.

@ Roberts
So, from your post and lack of response from admin, it seems that this is an ongoing, unresolved issue. The timing couldn't be worse for me. I noticed the problem, because a prospect was reviewing and commenting on a few of my models. I was about to recommend a similar one, BUT IT WAS NOT THERE!

I posted in the technical Q & A forum section. I sure hope someone is monitoring it.

I just sent an e-mail to developers, we just have to hope that the problem is easy to fix, because this is a major and serious problem.

We can hope. Thanks for sending the email...Should we start praying that someone will answer it? :-)

This is what they answered :

Hi there,

Don't worry, your models are ok, we are updating search system which controls model indexing in many places like categories or public profiles.

We reindexed so models should show up again. We will fix this issue in couple of days.

Please let us know if they are still missing.

Regards, Justas

And actually my models are back again (:

The problem appears to be ongoing and quite a big challenge to fix. Let's hope it gets sorted as soon as possible. The models always seem to be safely stored somewhere on the system but the main issue is that potential customers are not able to find the missing models when they do a search and may go elsewhere to find an alternative resulting in lost sales.

Well by judging the reply of the developers, they are updating the search system and that's why the problem is present. When they finish the update, the problem will probably be fixed.

Guys, the issue has nothing to do with removing, hiding or deleting your models - they are all fine on the database. The problem is with new search engine that we implemented and the way it is indexing models. We are working on fixing it and hopefully this case will be gone soon.

Thank you for noticing and posting information about issues you're experience. That helps us to get better.

@ Ed,
I knew it was about category indexing! Your data tables aren't talking.

Is this a continuation of the upgrades initiated a few months ago? If it is, what's the ETA? December??? LOL! I'm teasing! Chances are a variable is missing from a master table...or you're using text rather than number indexes and somebody made a typo and can't find it. I don't envy your coder.

Could you keep us posted on any changes to the system that may impact category indexing? If we know when the system is being changed, we can check our pages and let you know if models are missing.
