DESCRIPTION

This is a very detailed 3d model of a 1957-61 Ferrari 250TR Colombo 3L engine with gearbox included. The 250 Testa Rossa engine was based on Colombo-designed 3.0L V12 used in 250 GT road and racing cars. Carlo Chiti and other Ferrari engineers made several modifications to increase the performance of this already proven engine. The starting point was a 1953-style cylinder block with an overall capacity of 2953 cc, a 73mm bore and 58.8 mm stroke. Six two-barrel Weber 38 DCN carburetors fed the engine, increased from the 3 carburetors typical for 250 GT engines. The cylinder heads used single overhead cams, 2 valves per cylinder and helical double-coil valve springs (a first for Ferrari). It was mainly used on the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa cars.

Includes:

  • cylinder heads
  • cylinder block
  • distributors
  • dynamo
  • fuel pump
  • fuel rail
  • engine block
  • cam covers
  • alternator
  • oil sump
  • oil dipstick
  • oil filler tubes
  • starter motor
  • gearbox case
  • shifter
  • throttle control linkage
  • water rails

Features:

  • Polygonal model (quads only) originally created in 3ds Max for CGI.

  • Redshift, Corona, V-Ray, Arnold and Default materials included for 3ds Max. V-Ray materials for Cinema4D. Default standard materials for Blender, OBJ and FBX version. Two OBJ Files with different subdivision levels.

  • Model is scaled to real world scale in metric units (cm), and is placed very near / above the ground.

  • Proper quad modeling which allows any level of resolution and close ups. No ngons used.

  • Everything about the engine is done in very high detail and extremely close to the real engine (even small bolts are modeled).

  • No isolated vertices, no overlapping vertices or faces. No errors whatsoever.

  • There are 38 materials used in the scene grouped into one multi-material.

  • 7 textures (PNG format) with resolutions from 250x250 to 2048x2048 used for bolts, some plates and distributors normal bumps.

  • Textures, objects and materials are intelligently named and are very good for very high-definition renders if needed, contains all stickers and all sticker textures are original stickers. No default names for objects or materials used.

Renders were done in 3ds Max 2021 with V-Ray 5Press zoom on the previews to see high-res images.

The rendering scenes are not included.

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras

Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal
Learn more
No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.
Learn more
Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.
Learn more
UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
