HMS Rose was a 'Seaford' class sailing ship, built in 1757. It participated in the American War of Independence. Rose was present for the invasion of the State of New York, but was otherwise delegated to raiding continental commerce. It was not a large ship, but was bigger than anything the Continental Navy could field. It was partially responsible for the founding said Navy due to the impact of it's earlier exploits disrupting commerce.
