This is a fully parametric line-based Revit generic model for a Vertical Bars Railing. The model consists of a top handrail, a side lower elevation handrail and vertical guard rails. All features of this railing are parametric and can be controlled by the user.
Top handrail diameter is adjustable using one of the parameters together with the lower level handrail and the support posts diameter. The vertical bars diameter is also parametric as well as the gap between them. The number of vertical guard rails is automatically adjusted based on the given overall length of the railing in order to leave the specified gap between them.
The materials of this model can be changed to make it an aluminium railing, INOX railing or even a stainless steel balustrade.
Railing is entered into the project by just drawing a line or selecting existing lines thus the line-based family type. Number of support posts are also automatically calculated so that there is a support post at intervals about 1,5m which is the most used spacing for maximum safety.
Secondary lower level handrail can be turned on and off according to the design needs.
All materials are parametric.
