The Type Hei rifle was one of three self-loading rifle designs commissioned by the Imperial Japanese Army for military trials. It was designed by Dr. Masaya Kawamura and produced at the Nippon Special Steel company. The first prototypes were constructed in 1932 and it is estimated that around 50 models were made. The Mechanism itself is copied from the American Pederson rifle.
It's around 3'000 vertices and is fully rigged. I animated the shooting animation, but this was mostly for learning how to use IK's properly/keyframing. This is one of the guns with only a few reference photos in existence, so I am always happy to make more for people who are interested in history.
