DESCRIPTION

Hello everyone! Meet a new character named Norman. This is the robot helper, aka Bot-01 in the new robot collection. The robot can run, walk, roller skate and jump, waving his little arms. He can rotate his head on all axes without restriction, because he is a moving robot! :)He has 35 emotions and the ability to add an unlimited number of facial expressions, giving a wide range of emotions to convey information from his face-interface! It is enough to open the original .PSD file and draw a simple picture as you want and save it in the folder with the rest of the emotions with the same name, only with the following numbering and that's it!

  1. The character is equipped with a simple and clear rig for animation in the program Autodesk Maya 2018.
  2. there is a video tutorial on how to use the rig.
  3. There is a test animation
  4. +10 ready poses as a gift!
  5. There are 3 ready-made shadings for rendering: Arnold 3.0.1.1, Redshift 2.5.48, Maya standart.
  6. Several more formats are available: Mb, Ma, Fbx, Obj.
  7. You can repaint the character to your liking, there are original PSD files.

Technical data:

  • Maya 2018.
  • Unique rig, simple and intuitive.
  • IK to FK switching in foot control.
  • Character can scale.
  • Visual emotion control, look right in the scene.
  • 35 robot emotions, but you can add any other picture.
  • Rig skeleton is very light (will not lag).
  • No third-party plugins are used.

  • Character height 8.7 cm

  • Low polygonal model.

  • Quadrangle polygons.

  • 10733 faces.

  • 11000 verts.

  • Quality UV mapping.

  • Textures with 4k and 2k resolution .jpg

  • There is a .PSD file of textures, you can paint, change the inscriptions in photoshop, without resorting to complex 3D software.

  • There is a scene with test animation, you can see the character in action.
  • There are more than 10 ready poses to use.
  • There are 3 scenes with shading:
  • Arnold 3.0.1.1 PBR shader.
  • Redshift 2.5.48 PBR shader.
  • Maya shader (good for converting to something else)
  • Redshift renders are provided in the preview. Arnold and Redshift render looks similar, of course Redshift render faster!
    ________________________________________________

At the end I want to say that the character is animated quite easily. Just watch the demonstration video. You can quickly make any animation and render right away. The result will be fast! Probably it would be good for any of your projects where you need a desktop or pocket robot helper.

Good luck everyone!

Hello, a little question, I purchased the Norman Robot and I'm trying to understand how the connection between facial expressions and the slider that controls them works to modify it. Could you tell me how it works?

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras
Learn more
Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal
Learn more
No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.
Learn more
Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.
Learn more
UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
