Rothonda (Italian. Rotonda, from the Latin. Rotundus - round) - a cylindrical structure, usually topped with a dome. Around the circumference of the rotunda are often columns.
A rotunda is a circular structure with columns along the perimeter covered by a dome. The rotunda of concrete can be open or closed, depending on the presence of connecting elements between the columns. Balusters, handrails, railings are used as enclosing elements of a closed rotunda made of concrete. Such structures are usually installed on a hill so that those sitting on benches placed under the dome can enjoy the panoramic view of the surroundings. This principle is already laid down in the very name of the dome of the rotunda - these highest parts of the building are called belvederes (from the Italian belvedere - “beautiful view”).
