Post-apocalyptic sunset

In the near future, for some unknown and mysterious reason the moon will get closer and closer to Earth. As a direct result chaos will erupt on Earth. An unprecedented burst of many natural disasters such as tidal waves, earthquakes storms etc. will occur. There will be heavy rain in dry zones and the wet zones will experience a drought. Through these many disasters the once sunny outlook will turn dark. With the rise of earthquakes on the moon, the moon will crumble into pieces making a massive ring around Earth, ending its misery. Some manage to survive on Earth, which will then look like Saturn. Although there is no moon, the sun will remain. The sun will then set to indicate that it's the end of this journey. After the sun sets, day will turn into night and light will turn into darkness. It will make them feel like they have come to the end of an era. Every sunset will bring the promise of another day, a new era.
