In this update on the CGI version of the Pirate Snub Fighter/R-41 Starchaser, the texturing side of things is for the most part done. Now we're looking back to 3DS Max, to put the components back together, so we can see how the completed, and textured asset looks. There are one or two things I'll need to address, the flight control yoke top sections, for example, don't look too good with so much edge wear, so I'll either tone that down, or get rid of that effect entirely on that part. Also the emissive textures aren't showing up quite right in the renderer in Max, so will have to look at what is going on there, but I think we're almost there, just a couple of tweaks, and then I'll look at the red marking variant, and this will be pretty much done. This is rendered using 3DS Max's ART Renderer, and the materials from Substance Painter have been slotted into Max's Physical Material, which gets pretty much like for like results. Am looking forward to also doing a Daz 3D version, as that tends to render PBR materials really nice in their engine.
That's it for now, feel free to leave comments, feedback etc, all are welcome.
This is the way.
