In this latest update on the CGI (rather than the for 3D printing version) Pirate Snub Fighter/R-41 Starchaser, we're looking at the texturing side of things. With the model complete, some time was taken to do a good job of unwrapping this fairly complex model, before getting into the fun bit, material creation, and texturing the components of this ship in Substance Painter. At this stage we can really get a good idea of what the finished asset will look like, and it is a good painting reference for anyone who has purchased the 3D printable version of this model, as this should prove an excellent guide, showing you how to best paint this model for an authentic look. I've lead with the blue/grey version of this craft with white markings that is seen in the later episodes of the Mandalorian Season 3, where Mando and friends defend the world Navaro from the Pirate scourge. When done there will also be the alternative paint scheme that was seen more in the earlier episode where Mando encounters the Pirates in an asteroid field, that model will be a lighter, warmer grey (Think X-Wing or Falcon like base colour) with red markings.
This model is now in the final stages of production, and when all put together with materials applied, this will be up for sale soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Until then?
This is the way.
