Hi there, here are a few last renders of the 2nd edition of the 3D Print ready version of my Pirate Snub Fighter from The Mandalorian Season 3. This includes some shots of all the separate parts so you can see how this thing goes together.
This is to help celebrate the release of this new and improved 3D Print Model which is now live and available on the CGTrader store, link below. This gallery entry will show off this model at its best, highlighting all the detail that has been crammed in there based on feedback from the previous release, and with a couple of additional touches which were always planned for the second release.
First up, the number one thing on everyone's list of things to improve on the previous model, was the addition of a cockpit interior. This was always the plan, and I think you'll find this to be a highlight of the model, as every effort has been made to make this as screen accurate as possible, and this area is positively brimming with detail. For some context, the first edition of this model had 18 parts, this version has 70! Some of the smaller parts have also been given a chunkier fatter version of that same part (check out some of the renders and you'll see some comparison shots of the original and chunkier parts in the cockpit area), so the end user can choose which version of the part they'd rather use. The thinner more screen accurate smaller part, or the chunkier one, that while less screen accurate might just work better at the scale of the model and read better. The cockpit is a lovely feature of this model, and the canopy can be opened to allow you to seat one 3.75 inch action figure in the pilot's chair. Yes, this model scales correctly with officially licensed Star Wars vehicle collectibles. So if you wanted a companion piece for the Mando customised N-1 Starfighter? That companion piece is right here ready and waiting.
Other details added in this edition include landing gear that can be swapped out with closed landing gear bay doors, to allow you to display this starfighter in landed or flight configurations, and there is a hole in the belly of the ship for you to install a metal rod, in case you wanted to build yourself a display stand to better show this model off in it's flight configuration. Some of the parts have also been broken up further to make them easier to print. The feedback given really does get listened to.
I think that is everything. Also included in the package is a Readme that gives a full list of the parts that will be needed, and how many multiples of some parts will be required, and also a detailed set of instructions to guide you through the build.
Well I hope you enjoy my model should you choose to purchase it, and please post your results, it will be great to see how you get on with it. Here is the link:
