I designed and modeled the "Kaboom Mech" and the XM806 experimental machine gun in 3ds max. It went on the shelf for some time as other projects took priority. When I finally had the chance to use Susbtance Painter 2, the un-textured Mech model seemed like the perfect canvas to texture with the new PBR workflow.
The Mech model design reflects a first generation design approach. The first technical leap from tracked armor to "walking" armor somewhere in the near future of an alternative universe.
