This character is a human-based gargoyle, taking reference from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame film. He is a guardian in tandem with my other character, the Elemental, and was formed from stone to thwart anyone's attempt at destroying the land. He is friendly, however, and only works to defend, not actively seek combat.
This project was a lot of fun to finish, having started it with my Elemental character while finishing school. My goals for this project were to further practice, learn, and refine my concept-to-real-time-completion skills. I am very happy with the progress I am making in my workflow refinements, and I look forward to the next project!
I started with a three-point lighting setup in Unreal, all spotlights, to get my Key, Fill, and Rim going, then I adjusted and split the Rim into two so that I could get more of a shine in the back. Once this was done, I set up my Cinecamera Actor and adjusted some post-effects for the final image.
