Hey all!
For every product I upload, I try to make a polished demo video that shows it as it is intended to be used in an actual production environment. This new feature, uploaded today, is no exception.
Why the gallery then? Well, setting this up was a process! The lumberjack is an older character of mine, but I had never adding wind effects to his clothes before and it took some time to apply it like I wanted to see it, including some weight painting. LOVE the result - worth every second!
For the speed effect, I created a new nodegroup feature that allows you to, by using simple masking, add lines to your character at an angle of your choice. It uses Normals to define high contrast areas and that's where the lines go - where the outlines tend to go!
Additionally, wind is often suggested by whisps - this was added with a noise texture for that extra punch and it turned out BEAUTifully! So no, it's not included, haha.
It was so fun to make and I encourage you to go check out this short video!
