After 3 days of modeling, a Replica Model of Santa Maria is almost completed. In fact, the model needs more detailing and clean-up. For detailing, all ropes and connectors of ropes (I am not sure about the name of those tools, for this reason, I am calling them connectors :) ) will be modeled, the room of Christopher Columbus will be modeled, and also other interior parts will be modeled for the ship. Currently, the model has 212K (212,051 Verts) Vertices and 195600 faces (polygons) and this amount is too huge to call this model low poly, I will try to make more cleanup to decrease this amount (if possible). I will be happy to have suggestions and critics on the model (60-70% completed model) to improve it more.
With additional models (Rowing boat, Oars, rope-ladder, Reels, ropes, and Cloth Simulation Applied Flying Jib), in the 5th day, total vertices reached 422,142 (422K). The enormous impact came from Subsurface division and Cloth simulation applied Flying Jib but after retopology on jib, this amount is expected to decrease to around 300K. In 5th day, it started to be obvious that even applying retopology and decimate modifier won't be helpful to create a Low Poly model from this Ship. When we consider Rowing Boat, 2 Oars, 2 Wooden Barrel and Two Cannons, effect of these models on total vertices is around 25000 (25K). On the other hand, total effect of flying jib is around 124500.
