Lightweight construction was not just a promise with the M3 CSL: it is deeply rooted in the DNA of this unique sports car. With a curb weight of 1,385 kilograms, the engineers at BMW M reduced the already finely honed M3 Coupé's weight by an impressive 110 kilograms. In addition to reductions made in the body and the interior, a refined engine, transmission and chassis all made their contribution. The engineers also used a special, thin-walled exhaust system to save further weight.
