1/1800th scale Ise Class Battleship model. Certain elements not to scale.
The Ise class of battleships were a pair of battleships built during the first world war. Like many early Japanese battleships, they were renovated before WWII yet were still considered obsolete by the onset of the war. After the Battle of Midway demonstrated the importance of aircraft in naval battles, the Japanese Navy decided to convert some of their battleships into hybrid aircraft carriers. The Ise-class battleships were the first and only battleships to undergo such a conversion. Before their conversion, they carried twelve fourteen-inch guns and sixteen five and a half-inch guns. The conversion removed four of the fourteen-inch guns and all of the five and a half-inch guns. A large number of AA guns were added during the conversion as well.
This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.
