The archive uploaded contains the following files:
-Original blender file of the model;
-STL file of the frog;
-STL file of the bookmark;
-SolidWorks file of the bookmark;
-STL file of the cube for additional supports;
-CURA profile file that I used to print the model
The 3D printer that I used is Creality Ender 3.
Steps to print without troubles:
The model seems to be easy to print but I had some problems printing the fingers because Cura did not generate enough supports and they allways fell from the hands. In order to print the fingers correctly you have to add the STL cube that you have in the archive and place on both hands as shown in one of the pictures. You have to print the cubes as supports and for this I have a 3 minutes tutorial if you don't know how to do it (the tutorial is not mine) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Pz5jSYFXQM&feature=emb_logo ). On other slicers you have to add the supports manually
I suggest to look on my Cura profile if this is the slicer you use. Otherwise here are the main settings you need to look for.
Layer height: 0.15mm
Infill: 15%
Print speed: 30mm/s
Infill speed: 30mm/s
Brim is necessary for the best buildplate adhesion (I used 7mm).
Resolution: 0.12 -0.15
Supports: Pattern: Lines
Density: 20%
Support Z distance: 0.25mm
Enable support interface- ROOF and FLOOR 0.4mm both
For the Bookmark file you can increase the speed to 40->60 mm/s and the infill to 100% (there is no need for supports)
FROG PRINT TIME AT 100% SCALE: 1h 46 min
BOOKMARK PRINT TIME AT 100% SCALE: 16 min
The frog and the bookmark are not a tight fit and I suggest to superglue them together after you place it in the hole. You can also modify it from the solidworks file to make it tight (Don't forget to clean the hole of supports on the bottom of the frog)
This model was fun to make and to print and I hope you will like it. For any information please leave a comment!
