Resicza 1872 Steam Locomotive Engine

Resicza 1872 Steam Locomotive Engine 3D model

Description

Austro-Hungarian steam locomotive from 1872. Runs on a 948mm track. Includes valve gear and full cabin controls, built using precise blue-prints and period photos.

Scale model contains several arch&design as well as a few standard materials. Three lights are included in the scene and a fake sky primitive. Does not use any texture maps. Every component (eg: boiler, wheel, frame, etc) have been named and divided appropriately. Model does not contain any instancing. Rendered using Mental Ray.

This model is great, but I has some issues: - The .obj file has one mesh with the locomotive and "sky" parts, but they can be easily separated in blender by selecting linked faces with "L" since they are not all connected. The parts are named and separated in the .3ds and .max files, which can be viewed at https://viewer.autodesk.com so you can know how to separate them in blender. - The locomotive uses an Allan straight link valve gear. The radius rod appears to be connected at two points to the reverser arm, however the lifting link on the side closer to the cabin is actually connected to the expansion link, as can be seen in one photo of the Resicza. I will make another comment if I find other issues with it.
