The native range encompasses a wide area that goes from the Caucasus and inland Turkey to the Himalayas. It was first introduced in Great Britain in 1838. It is one of the few maple species that can re-grow from around the base of the trunk. Origin: Eastern Europe and Asia. Height: up to 15 m.
