I would like advice on my object Free 3D model

DESCRIPTION

This is for a school project and i was just wondering if this is decent for a junior in high school. Should this work be more detailed? What should i do to improve my modeling skillz. Im mostly looking for advice not to get recognition for this crappy gun creation. If i want to get a career into this genre of profession what should i do to try to make that possible? I want the truth mostly so if your reading this please help me out. Thank You.

Buttstock too long, grip shouldn't be there, idk what is that below the barrel, and shorter barrel with a rail or something of that sort, hope i helped you :D
