German scouts use traditional modular tents which are formed out of one pentagonal and three different rectangular tarpaulin types. The modular system allows almost unlimited creative tent designs and even whole linked-together tent cities. Main tents are the Kroete (toad, one pentagonal tarpaulin), the Lokomotive (locomotion, two pentagonal tarpaulins), the Kohte (4 pentagonal tarpaulins) and the Jurte (6 pentagonal tarpaulins and 6 rectangular tarpaulins).
