Replacing the head in exact?

Discussion started by llast-ffirst1234

I'm using Maya. I have a character model. I have a separate head that I want to replace the current head of the character model. I know that you can delete the current head and put the new head, but that's not what I'm trying to do. I want to practically swap the two heads so that I can get the new head in the exact same place. Is there a way to do this?

It sounds like you answered your own question even though you don't seem to want that solution. What is the difference between what you are trying to do and the method of deleting the current head and placing the new head in the same spot? If the head was separated to begin with for some reason, then you shouldn't have an issue with that. The problem will be if you wanted to weld the points of the new head onto the existing body and combine the UV maps for both into one mesh.

First off, you don't have to be so rude about it. If you're confused by my question, just say so and don't bother with the unnecessary and rude remarks. There's actually an add-on in Blender for what I'm trying to accomplish, so yeah, there's obviously a difference.

If there is a way to do this in DAZ 3D, as well, that would also be appreciated.

I did not intend to offend you with my reply. I apologize if my wording was considered rude in any way. I hope you find a solution.
