Public Profile Updates: Response Time And Response Rate

Discussion started by kestas-nevera

Hi guys!

We introduce you a new
feature. Response rate and response time meter have been added to your public
profile. Visitors of your profile
will see are you responsible enough by the way you communicate. They will see
how often do you respond to their requests and what is the average time of your
responses to the following messages.

So, response rate is
calculated ONLY by the first message you get. This means that if you will not
respond to the second (or any further) message from the person which wrote you
first, it will not affect your response rate.

Response time is
calculated by how quick do you reply to the requests and the subsequent
messages. There are few important aspects of it First of all, if you will not
reply to a request (the first message which you get) for 2 days or more - it
will affect your response rate significantly. It will be calculated as 2 days.
Secondly, you are not obliged to respond the subsequent messages. Therefore, if
someone writes you “Bye”, “Thanks” or something like that and you do not
respond to that message - it will not affect your response time. And the last thing - the
response rate and time of the person who starts the conversation is not being
calculated.

We believe that this is
a useful feature, because when you do peer-to-peer, it is essential to provide
required information and communicate effectively. Thereby, it is better
for you to answer requests constantly and fast - this will indicate that you
are a reliable seller and will help you to grow your business. Your potential
buyers will see that you communicate and cooperate with the clients - so keep
your response rate high and your response time low.

We hope that this update
will help you to boost your sales. It’s up to you - to be good or the best
seller.

Hello Kestas. This is a good idea imho.
How does it work, or better, how is it handled? I see a 25% response rate when I access the site. Is it my rate?

Sounds like a nice feature guys but I'm wondering at what "response rate" are you referring to ? I see I have 67% so I would be interested in increasing it, thus would be useful to know how.
Are you referring at the number of "personal messages" we respond to (I don't think so cause otherwise I'd have 100% :) ), or the requests from the Job Section or something else entirely ?

Sounds good too me, for me cgtrader is about community involvement , more of a social network for modelers than just a place to sell!

Yes, there is something different about CGTrader, compared to other 3d markets, but I just don't know exactly what.
Seems like I find myself browsing the site daily, even more often than I check some forums that I like, which is odd ... for a market :)

There may be an error in the calculations, we'll get it sorted one way or another. :)

I believe the rate depends also on how fast you respond and not just if you respond ! I maybe wrong just my take on it.

Probably not, I have 0.1 hours response speed and 25% rate. Whatever it is based upon..

My response rate is 67 percent, but I only received two personal messages and an offer, and I answered them all.

My response rate should be 100 percent.

I think it's a good idea, but not working properly ... Please fix it.

Explication of the response rate :
If you comment 2 times and someone clic on "Irrelevant" then you will have a 50% on rate.
4 comments and 1 Irrelevant then you will have 75%. Easy no?

Hehe, if that's the case then we all know the easiest way to have a clean 100% :) Joking :p

I think response time are calculated based on our response to customer messages and from product support. It has nothing to do with forum posts.

Oh, guys, sorry, for such a long response time ;]]

Well, no - forum replies doesn't count.
And there is a certain period of time to "make a response" - reply a personal message.
That means, that if you mane an answer in more than two days - it doesn't count as a response.
Otherwise, a designer, who would like to make his response rate better would reply to all old messages he had got earlier and would have a 100% response rate.
So, we think that 2 days seems quite logical.

Good luck!

now my average response time is at : 233.9h :-( , it was from a duplicate product offer from a customer, i only response to the first one . anyway to undo this?

firdz3d, I think there's no way you personally could revert the situation as once a message is sent there's no way to "un-send" it. Such a feature would only be available to site/forum admins so it might help if you offer to buy a few beers/flowers to one of the admins :)

Sounds good for me, but I still have some questions about it.
What's with the fun-bidders who bid 1 $ für anything. It is sufficient to reject such offers oder must i drop a line?
Whats with poaching offers? I have ignored such emails, therefore i have hard 33%.
Maybe it would had been better this rating sytem has startet from now on. With the input i have now i think it's a great innovation.
The replay off all old messages dosen't work by me.

Guys, thanks for your valuable feedback. Give us some time to look at the data and fine tune this feature. As we released it without any notice, I think it would be fair to give many of you a fresh start, especially if you are willing to care about these ratings.

One thing whch should considered: we all have a number of unanswered messages.
Recently another vendor got in touch with me for info. I answered and he wrote me back to thank me. I didn't answer to this message. We'd all get tied together in a chain of "thanks - you're welcome"...

Good comment Sirren! How would you suggest to handle this issue?
Sirren wrote
I don't know if this can be solved easily. One possibility could be something like this: the sender of the message can marks it as " chain closed", simply meaning that a missing answer back isn't accounted for in the Support Quality counter. Probably not the ultimate solution but it could work.

We will do it in simple way: response time/rate will be calculated only to the responder, but not for the message author. Because the author is the one who needs the answer and is not responsible for the response.

It sounds good, and it's better to keep things simple. I'm looking forward to the new system!

Hello again, guys!

We made some improvements to response rate and response time meter. (You don't need to answer every "thanks" message to keep your response time high).
I've updated the information about it on the first post. I hope that everything will be clear know and that you will find this feature useful.

Good luck!

Hello there,

I have a message from another vendor with no text in it. I can't respond to it, as there's no text box. At the moment it's bringing my response rate down from 100% to 50%. Is this a bug?

Wait, can you actually see these statistics? They desappeared from my dashboard a few days ago. I can't see them on both my dashboard and public profile.

Well you are right @Sirren, I can't see them on your profile but they do appear on mine and at other people.

Thanks for confirming this Bogdan. Uhm, site bug or something strange going on my cranky 10 years old PC?

I can see response stats for Bogdan but not for Sirren

These are probably just some temporary bugs after their latest site maintenance which was a few days ago. By how fast the admins usually respond & fix these things I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Hi guys, we reset the counter from the day the feature was launched - so that we do not take into account the historical data, when you were not aware about this feature. So Sirren maybe just did not have any messages since that date?

Hi Dalia. No, I already had a few PMs, three or four.

I now have a response rate of 33% - but no new messages, at least that I can reply to. I still have the blank message I cannot reply to . . . .
