How I manage to make good income while being creative!

I don't think this has been mentioned here but I believe open source software hosted on github could be a source of passive income via donations (paypal, cryptocurrencies) and patreon or liberapay which is basically an open source version of patreon for those who don't know.

Now it's highly likely I won't make enough money on a donationware software and I'm not sure if it's passive because I might be on support 24/7 with constant bug fixes and updates with new features which would be no different from SaaS which isn't passive imho. Plus I have no programming skills (lol, I am interested in learning it) but might as well get the idea out there.
