The SIGGRAPH 2017, most likely the largest CG event globally is over, but there are more exciting events coming and for those in Europe the animago AWARD & CONFERENCE in Munich is surely worth a look at. September 7-8 th representatives of the most influential companies in VFX Animation and Visualization scene are gathering together to show their finest work, discuss the latest trends and figure out who-is-who in the industry. Besides the awards, where newcomers and veterans alike are celebrated for their productions, attendees will get a chance to listen a number of interesting talks and check the exhibition area.

In the exhibition area, software and hardware developers will display their latest technologies, and (not surprisingly) this year you will see a lot of developments related to VR/AR. Rumours say some of the awards entries will be presented in a VR gallery and attendees will be welcome to try out some of the custom and brand-new VR experiences available. An interesting on-site competition to take part in for our community should be VR Sculpting Competition hosted by Oculus and Milkroom Studios (additional registration can be found here). Interactivity is the name of the game this year, so attendees are also invited to join Wacom Sketch Battle on the animago EXHIBITION floor. Visitors can compare their digital drawing skills in a live battle, and only the audience will decide the winners.
