This year we've spent a long time thinking about the perfect holiday gift that we could give you. Guess what, you're not an easy crowd to shop for. Luckily, we're not short of cool ideas. So this season we give you the gift of giving... With much excitement we introduce the new website features: community rating and new referrals system. Please handle them with care, for with the new powers come new responsibilities.

What is the Community rating system all about?

Peer review is a perfect tool to ensure the 3D models that make their way to the top of the page are of the highest quality and deserve to be among the trending works. Scientists use peer review process to establish which research results should be published, we'll use it as a method to draw order from chaos.

Don't think the models that get to ride the trend wave deserve the hot spot? Then help us solve the problem. We value your competence and talent and think it's time you take the wheel. Well, in the best possible way. We put our trust in your professional judgement to help us sort out the marketplace and, at the same time, you get a chance to test your skills. Do you have an eye for spotting talent and quality? Does your given rating match with the average score? Give it a try and you will know...

Your rating will be automatically compared to the average score. If it drastically differs from the average, it won't be accepted. We rely on this rule to avoid any unfair or inappropriate ratings (not that we think there will be any, though!).

Don't like the idea of someone rating your models? That's okay, too. We made sure the new rating system has a low impact on the overall trending score during the testing phase and until it's clearly evident that the new feature helps the best 3D models climb to the top. As it is just beta version for now, please give us feedback and more importantly - do.not.panic.

Before you hit the "Rate Product" button

To make an educated decision, it's best to refer to a wide range of factors. Here's a brief list of aspects you should consider before hitting the "Rate product" button:

1. The level of execution: in general, evaluate how well the product is modeled; the topology of geometry; how detailed the model is; how well the textures are prepared.

2. Presentation: in general, evaluate how well the preview images are rendered; assess the overall atmosphere and level of photorealism; take into account the total number of preview images.

3. Form: assess the proportions and form of the model and the overall look of the model (has the author succeeded in conveying the idea?).

4. Style and uniqueness. If you're annoyed you haven't thought of the idea yourself, it's probably safe to say the model is quite original in style. Think along the lines of fresh, different, creative.
