CGTrader's Community Rating System receives the oh-so-anticipated upgrade and it's awesome
News
When we first introduced the Community Rating system, we didn’t really know what to expect. It seemed fair to include our community members, who are industry sharks themselves, into the process of selecting and promoting top-class
We glad it worked, and you enjoyed the game-based peer review. Now it’s
3D and 3D Print models will fall into different categories
You can now adjust your settings to see the models from that category, which you understand and enjoy better. You can also skip all models that look unclear, don’t have enough preview images or are difficult to evaluate. (See below why you’ll want to keep a close eye on your accuracy score). Whichever category you choose to rate, you’ll have 50 votes per day.
Accurate raters will earn reputation points
From now on, the game gets serious. Every rater who reaches 80+% accuracy score, will get 1 reputation point for each of his following ratings. When he achieves 85+% accuracy score, every rating earns him 2 reputation points. As you know, reputation points can help you increase your level and get higher royalties, so take your chances!
Trusted Raters - new players in the game
All raters with 80+% accuracy score are Trusted Raters. Their votes will be taken into account when sorting the Trending model listings and will have an influence on the results generated by our internal search engine when models are sorted by Quality. If you want to lead, it is now or never.
Before you hit the "Rate Product" button
If you’re new to the system and find it a little ambiguous, here are a bunch of valuable pointers how to stay on track.
To make an educated decision, it's best to refer to a wide range of factors.
1. The level of execution: in general, evaluate how well the product is modeled; the topology of geometry; how detailed the model is; how well the textures are prepared.
2. Presentation: in general, evaluate how well the preview images are rendered; assess the overall atmosphere and level of photorealism; take into account the total number of preview images.
3. Form: assess the proportions and form of the model and the overall look of the model (has the author succeeded in conveying the idea?).
4. Style and uniqueness: if you're annoyed you haven't thought of the idea yourself, it's probably safe to say the model is quite original in style. Think along the lines of fresh, different, creative.
