eTail West, one of the world’s premier events for eCommerce,
wrapped up last Friday in Palm Springs California. The annual conference and
exhibition bring together 1200 retailers from all over the US to discuss the
latest trends and technologies that are shaping the future of online shopping.
CGTrader was there in force, demonstrating our ability to
transform any number of SKUs into photorealistic 3D models for immersive
Augmented Reality user experiences.
Our eTail participation included giving the keynote address
at the
Optimizing Merchandising and User Interface Summit. CGTrader Vice
President of Business Development, Morin Sarenio, addressed more than 150 retailers,
detailing the impact Augmented Reality UX can have on visual merchandising and
user experience. Some of the key takeaways from her presentation included:
Included in Morin’s presentation were many practical examples
of how online shoppers can view products in their own home environment to
evaluate design and dimensions. Imagine seeing
a selected sofa in your living room within seconds after seeing it online. Additionally, Morin showed how hassle free the
whole processes really is with CGTrader converting any number of SKUs into
photorealistic 3D models.
Morin also discussed the technology advances and trends that
are making AR much easier to implement. These including Apple’s ARKit 2, Google
ARCore and Virtual Try On solutions – as well as the increased usage of mobile devices
for eCommerce.
One of the highlights of eTail is the 2-day exhibition where
retailers can experience the latest technology innovations to make the online
shopping experience more effective and engaging. CGTrader was there in force
with a booth that gave us the opportunity to meet with the retailers face to
face. The reactions were extremely positive as we explained how we leverage our
vast community of 3D designers - combined with 10 years of experience - to help
retailers reap the benefits of Augmented Reality eCommerce.
The event ended with a crescendo for CGTrader as Marin
Sarenio took part in the
Exploring Disruptive Mobile Marketing Strategies to
Boost eCommerce
panel discussion along with representatives from Nordstroms,
Threadless, and ThredUp.
