This morning has started with a cup of coffee and a huge piece of sweet cake in the office. Smells like a birthday. And it definitely is.
Today CGTrader has a two year birthday anniversary. It means that 731 days have already passed by catching a dream and making it real. No, this Friday is not a day-off for us. All together we go further.
This is the reason why I would like to thank for each member of our small team publicly. It is fascinating that all of them are the best in a particular spheres. So, all the time they are making the best of it. Of course, everyone has black days, but there are bright ones afterwards.
I am in love with CGTrader, because I became passionate while observing colleagues. There are no working hours, no pressure in our office. There is always chocolate on a table. And we definitely need a bed for the next birthday. It is obvious that we will start sleeping here quite soon.
No, I am not trying to force you to read the Ode for our office. I am just using an opportunity properly. According to this, we all would like to thank to each of you. I guess, there is no need to say that without you, we are nothing. 3D model marketplace could never exist without a strong and close-knit community of 3D designers. As well as it would be impossible to develop CGTrader with no support of those, who are in high demand of 3D models. We have our computer graphics' society growing everyday. And we could not ask for a better present.
Moreover, I would like to announce that today in a few hours is the deadline for the 3D Model Competition. It is being held as a birthday party lasting the whole month. To sum up, we have received an enormous amount of professional 3D models varying in categories and styles. It will be extraordinarily difficult to decide which ones of them are the best. Furthermore, it just proves a fact that each of you are an important part in bringing our dream into life. A dream to create a different, author-friendly and a fair marketplace for all of us.
Instead of toasting, we would like to share with you some interesting facts from the life of CGTrader. The very first visitor came to our marketplace on 8th of March. It was exactly two years ago. And then it has started. Endless checking of Google Analytics and looking to the curves of flow. Unfortunately, they have a tendency to go down after they suddenly strike. Two months after we reached a number of a thousand visitors a day.
U.S.A. definitely is the first one on the top of countries by visitors. There is billion-strong India and then United Kingdom afterwards.
It is common to remember some particular moments, while celebrating a birthday. Yes, yes to thank everyone, to highlight any interesting stories of a year, to hug a lot, to smile a lot and then cry a heart out. Accidentally, we realised that none of us remembers what was the first 3D model to be uploaded on a marketplace. Now we know. It is a 3D model of a residential house for $10. An object was made by Marius, who is the right hand of CGTrader. It has never been bought, by the way.
There is a gorgeous Greek Corinthian Various Subjects Collection for sale on our marketplace also. It is the most expensive model of ours and costs $1610. The strange thing about this is that I know only very few people who would buy this collection if vases and dishes were real. When it comes to these ones, it is a good investment - you could never break them down. Moreover, I just hope that there will be no such people who will buy this 3D model and insist on us to send it via DHL.
But no other category of models would ever exceed 3D cars in quantity. Out of more than 10300 3D objects on CGTrader, more than 3240 models are 3D designed cars. Fast and slow ones, absofreakinglutely new and naphthalene's old ones. Cars for racing, public transporting, leisure time, driving to the beach, travelling or even peacocking. Unsurpringly, there are only 75 models in a "Space" category. Do you want to say that none of us has been out of there or just that there is a lack of imagination among us?
If someone ever want to purchase all the CGTrader's 3D models at once, it would cost $842,129 for a buyer. Is here anyone who would like to try?
There are 3D products from 31 country on our marketplace. When I look through this collection, I say that it is "Made in Ukraine" without any doubt. 2157 3D models are created there. There are just few steps left for Spain to take this honour with the amount of 1912 3D models uploaded.
I do not know, where will we be after following 731 days. But I am sure, we will be more than alive. Because, as a writer Paulo Coelho said, if you want something, the whole world secretly helps you.
