US Independence Class Aircraft Carrier 3D print model

Description

1/1800th scale Independence Class Aircraft Carrier model. Certain elements not to scale.

The Independence class aircraft carriers were a set of nine light aircraft carriers built on the Cleveland class cruiser hull. One was lost during the war and the remaining were retired after the war. They had no naval guns, only antiaircraft guns. They carried around thirty-five aircraft.

This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.

Update 27 Aug 19: Added boats.

Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.

I printed it at 1:3000 scale (reduced to 60% of the original). The shape and details are excellent. The only thing that would bother me is that the crane in front of the bridge is too thick, and so, the whole bridge looks too large.

Really well done model. Good detail, and very printable. I'm also very impressed that you nailed the hull shape making it the same size as the Cleveland Cruiser given that this class of light carrier was originally laid down as Cleveland Class Cruisers. Nice job!
