The Robinson R22 is a two-seat, two-bladed, single-engined, light utility helicopter manufactured by Robinson Helicopter Company. It was designed in 1973 by Frank D. Robinson, and has been in production since 1979.
Our version is VERY detailed, with recessed lines, a realistic engine, and metal structure, making this model a challenge for your 3D printing skills. Whether using filament or resin, you'll need to demonstrate your ability to create supports, as we chose to maintain the model's fidelity rather than reduce or exaggerate the details just to make it easier to print. I've cut it into 3 versions, which are:
1 - 1/20 scale version with the engine and structure all together with the helicopter's body (fuselage);
2 - 1/20 scale version with the engine and structure separate from the helicopter's body (fuselage). This will make printing easier but will require finishing at the joint between parts;
3 - 1/32 scale version with the engine and structure separate from the helicopter's body (fuselage), exclusively for resin printing, as it is very small and better suited for resin printers with a smaller area.
Enjoy!!
