1/1800th scale Takao Class Cruiser model. Certain elements not to scale.
The Japanese Takao class of cruisers preceded the Mogami class (also available). Four of them were built, three were sunk. They featured heavier torpedo armament and ten eight-inch guns in a 5x2 arrangement. All four ships were present for the Battle of Midway. They were all damaged, and three of them sunk, at the Battle of Leyte Gulf. The lead ship, Takao, survived the war and was scuttled by the British in 1946.
This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.
This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.
