Nice model printed well on anycubic photon mono x2
The leg joints are a little delicate though so do be careful when handling.
If you ever do the gun arms I will get them :-)
Having been a massive fan of the TV show I have built a few smaller Tripod models over the years and over the last few months I have searched the internet looking for a printable Tripods model. So you can imagine how happy I was when I came across this one. Having been a model builder for many years myself I know how much work goes into these things so for the small fee that the modeller is charging I thought I would buy it. I am so glad I did this is a really nice crisp detailed model, and worthy of a home on any sci fi fans shelf. It isn't a perfect copy of the Tripod as some details are missing like the grill pattern on the underside of the machine. Some of the greebling on the upper part of the head. However these can be added when you are prepping it for painting and take nothing away from the quality of the model. The only problem I have had where that some of the panel lines sort of merge and become a blob of filament towards the rear of the machine, these lines need a slight modification of making them wider to allow for a clean print. The Model Splits down well to allow for a multipart oversized print. I have printed mine to around 48 Inches high taking around 26 hours to print. Yes its going to need a little sanding and filling in a few spots but at this scale it's really nice, at a smaller scale it would be perfect. I highly recommend this model to any sci fi fan or fan of the books/TV series. Many thanks to Uber-illusionist, i will keep an eye out for any other sci fi bitts you have made....
The product was as advertised.
Very nice sculpt. The legs however are structurally discontinuous (feet not joined to the midlegs and midlegs not to the knees). This is not obvious unless closely inspected and presents difficulties for some modelers that do not have modeling software. (I do). The legs should also be segments rather than entire pieces allowing for less support and also decreasing flexing during the printing process in such long and slender parts. Overall this is a nice price for a set of files that greatly reduced the time to model it on my own. Well done.
