3D PRINTING FILE
Another iconic lightsaber, Luke Skywalker's saber from 1983's 'Return of the Jedi' !
There are several versions of Luke's hilt seen throughout the film, and if you've looked even briefly into recreating the beloved hero's weapon, you might have seen names like ROTJ V2, YUMA, Hero and ISYHCANL thrown around.
These all refer to the different props used to depict Luke's lightsaber- some were made for stunt performances while others were for close-ups.
The V2 was Alec Guiness' stunt lightsaber as seen in 'A New Hope', and originally housed a motor which spun a reflective tape-covered wooden dowel. For 'Return of the Jedi', the prop makers stripped down the motorised stunt saber and added a few unique details to create Luke's new hilt.
Since the real V2 saber is noticeably hand made, with severe damage and inconsistent dimensions, our 3D printing file has made a very close idealisation of that original prop. We hope that this enables you to add your own weathering and details, whilst also being printer-friendly.
This design is intended for resin SLA printing, but may be also work on FDM printers. We recommend using an M10 x 270mm threaded rod and M10 nut to hold the hilt together.
