Kumasogami is a kaiju (giant monster) from the 1994 Toho film Yamato Takeru aka Orochi the Eight Headed Dragon. The movie isn't that great, but I really liked several of the kaiju designs and Kumasogami was my favorite - a god/demon made of molten lava that could change parts of his body at will. I chose to sculpt him in his bow and arrow form complete with the archway he walks through during his fight scene in the movie.
One of the coolest things about this Kaiju was the glowing magma that appeared through cracks in his body. I wanted to capture this by printing him in clear resin on my Peopoly Moai and installing LEDs throughout his body. My build up is shown in the model gallery. You can get a similar effect just by painting the cracks in reds, oranges, and yellows but it's not nearly as cool. :)
I've modeled the figure's head, torso, arms, legs, and wings separately and the parts are all keyed to fit nicely together. I did not key the base, in order to give the modeler a bit of flexibility in positioning the figure within the archway. As sized, the finished diorama is roughly 1:12 scale and stands about 12" tall. The figure parts will easily fit most SLA printer build plates at that scale. The base is much larger and is best printed on a larger format PLA machine.
I hope you enjoy the diorama, and share your build if you decide to print it.
