This is Studio/Filming scale replica of the famous Death Star Turbolasers seen in Star Wars - A New Hope. Over a hundred hours went into research and designing this along with over 150+ greeblies that were designed using original parts, and castings of some very rare and expensive model kits as a reference, and meticulously reproduced in 3D using a micrometer and other tools. The one pictured is similarly made, but I made mine with a base and a shield over the gun internal openings to provide more realism and to hide the obvious opening which detracts from that. 99% of the greeblies from the original filming model have been identified, however some have been lost to storage, handling and display. Some extra non-accurate greeblies have been added to fill in some of the missing parts.
The guns are designed to elevate together, so you will need some 1/4, 5/16 regular brass tubing and 9/32thin wall brass tubing, along with a 3 turntable bearing (lazy susan bearing) to make it poseable. A small amount of solid styrene rod is also required. For those who want to motorize or make RC improvements, there are some extra parts added that you can use to give you the room to do so. You will also have to add some raised panels if you wish, to make it as close to the filming model as possible.
Use a palm sander to smooth out the rough surface. Take your time and you will have a great piece of movie memorabilia that you will be proud of. This is a large model. You should have a 12" bed minimum. The greeblies are very detailed so you should print those off on a resin printer. If you wish to print the high tower design you will have to segment the STLs on your own using Meshmixer (free) or another software package.
