The addition of Refracted Armor Plating lends an increase in resistance against Energy-based damage, and built-in Boosters add to its mobility. It has been found that many pilots prefer the more natural feel of controlling humanoid style legs over other designs. That, and tradition make sure that such types will always be available from manufacturers.
