I was on a 20 year wedding anniversary with my wife on Whidbey Island about 15 years ago when I spotted an absolutely huge concrete model of a cleat designed to be used as a bench. As a retired 27 year tugboat captain, I fell absolutely in love with the idea of a huge cleat at my shop. I had a business pumping concrete, and now own a successful sign shop. I do have and use a CNC. I'm rather accomplished at 3D modeling but not as good at manufacturing the time needed to make a model, so I bought this model. I was considering selling my models on CGTrader after my buying experience but after reading the forum, I was discouraged. Doing business the way I currently do business is far more profitable than trying to sell to a Drive By Market hoping to capitalize on the fruits of other's labor.
After reading the forum, I felt compelled to reply to your request for a review.
As a modeler, my opinion is CG Trader takes entirely too much from the model creator sales.
Under 10% and I would sell. 30%......no way.
People want me to take my original ideas and products locally and sell my product in their shops taking the same 30% off the top. Just not gonna happen.
