DESCRIPTION

The Medium Girder Bridge (MGB) is a lightweight, man portable bridge and can be assembled without help from heavy equipment. In addition, it is also a deck type, two-girder bridging system capable of carrying loads up to and including Main battle tanks (MBT).I’ve personally built loads of these bridges in various configurations. This is an iconic system in service around the world for more than half a century.This model is provided/designed at 1:10 scale, with robust detail for printing at small scales.With this set of files you get several bridge component options for assembling larger double storey spans, or a 5-bay fixed span, single storey bridge.Dovetail connections are provided, which will hold over a gap without collapsing. A different version is also provided with blanks for drilling out for attachment, or neodymium magnets.Where possible, the model has been designed from manuals, and from detailed walkaround photos. I have been as accurate as I can be, I have also made design decisions to thicken up some components for durability when printing.Overall, this model has printed well well with good detail from 1:200 up to 1:76.Test printed in resin (anycubic photon mono, grey standard). I have presupported some of the files, however others were too big for my printer. I’ve also had some success printing directly on the bed, but I’ll leave that up to you.
