Hawker Hunter was one of the most successful fighter/attack aircraft in history. Although the design had a wide range of issues and problems initially, these were eventually solved, and the iconic hunter saw a long, exemplary and glorious service, spanning more than four decades with more than 21 air-forces around the world.
Here, a package of sixteen highly detailed 1/72 scale models of Hawker Hunter F4/F5 (both variants are externally identical) is provided. Eight models show the aircraft in clean configuration while another eight show the aircraft with 100-gallon external fuel tanks on under-wing pylons. The models show various states of aircraft components, including landing gear, flaps, air-brake and cockpit canopy. The combinations of these components being extended or retracted is based on general practices, design and operational working of the aircraft (eg. air-brake cannot be extended when landing gear is extended). All models with extended undercarriage have detailed landing gear bays. The parked model includes a detailed cockpit. The landing gear in extended condition is integrated in the model wherever applicable.
Following abbreviations are used in file names to identify the positions of various components in a particular model:
LGO: Landing gear open/extended; LGC: Landing gear closed/retracted.ABO: Air-brake open/extended; ABC: Air-brake closed/retracted.FOXY: Flaps open/extended by XY degrees; FC: Flaps closed/retracted.CO: Cockpit open; CC: Cockpit closed.PLY: Model with pylons: Here, only models of pylons carrying 100-gallon fuel tanks are provided as F4 and F5 variants normally carried only these and did not carry 290-gallon fuel tanks, rocket launchers, etc.
NOTE: This is a single piece model and is suitable only for large-format SLA printers. A model suited for FDM would be uploaded soon.
NOTE: This is only a scaled down dummy model of the aircraft for display purposes. No working parts are present.
NOTE: Please check the terms of license before using this model. It is advised to discuss any public use with author in advance.
