For transfer of 3D model to the appropriate scale for 3D printing, use Rescale factor (uniform scale):1x35 => 0,0286; 1x32 => 0,0313; 1x24 => 0,0417; 1x20 => 0,05; 1x18 => 0,0556; 1x16 => 0,0625; 1x10 => 0,1; 1x9 => 0,111; 1x6 => 0,167; 1x5 => 0,2Recommended characteristics of the printer for scales 1 / 35-1 / 16 - Envision TEC printer or other jewelry printers with the same parameters. The thickness of printing layer 0,025 (ideal) -0,05 mm, or 25-50 micron.

Formats:STL - for any 3D printers; OBJ for exporting in any 3D tools.

Please consider making a version of the helmet with thinner shell walls for printing at larger scales. I'm printing these for use with 1:6 scale action figures and while the results are very nice, the inside of the model is quite thick and makes it difficult to fit a 1:6 scale helmet liner and head inside the helmet without scaling it a good bit larger or doing a fair bit of work with a rotary tool. Thanks.

The model has a very good shape and proportions that result in very nice helmets when printed in 1:6 scale. However, there is one thing that should be noted for those wishing to use them for 1:6 action figures and that is that you don't want to scale them to true 1:6 scale. If you do, they won't fit most 1:6 head sculpts and you won't be able to use the liners from 1:6 scale German helmets from manufacturers such as Dragon or DiD. Most (perhaps all) of the helmets from Dragon and other manufacturers are about 10% bigger than they should be because the molded hair on a head sculpt has been taken into account. Scale them to 18.27% of the original model and they will work much better. That's not a ding against the modeler though as the 1:1 model has been scaled correctly. Other than that, my only minor criticism is that they are just a bit thick when printed in 1:6 scale. I remedied that with some vigorous sanding of the inside edges of the rim but a slightly thinner version for larger scales would be welcome.

The model may well suit many people but I was told that the .obj version would work with Rhino for Mac but none of the functions I wanted to use worked. This was after I expressed doubt that either the .stl and .obj would work, I wanted the file to be a solid model not a mesh but I was told I could buy in confidence and that i'd be able to work on the model as normal, which wasn't true. I've written to CGTrader to explain my issue but no reply from them. They were quick enough to tell me to purchase but not so quick to come up with an answer to my issue, so far I've heard nothing so $20 dollars wasted. If my issue isn't resolved they won't get any more business from me. I also noticed the model wasn't symmetrical, one side had a different profile to the other which is deficit to understand as the item is supposed to be symmetrical. Mike
