EVA Pod Pilot - 2001 A Space Odyssey

EVA Pod Pilot - 2001 A Space Odyssey 3D print model

Description

Highly detailed figure of a seated astronaut for 3D printing (SLA)
You can print this data material yourself or have it printed out at Shapeways, for example.
Size is suitable for the 1/8 2001 Space Pod from Moebius.
! A T T E N T I O N !
The interior of the Moebius EVA pod unfortunately does not correspond to the given scale 1/8.
I was therefore forced to scale down the sitting atronaut figure to the scale 1/9.

  1. My models are created without digital scanning. Every detail is manually interpreted with anatomical expertise, thorough research, and reference materials.
  2. With exceptionally sharp edges and precise details, they deliver a print quality unmatched by and far superior to digital scans.
  3. Each file is created with dedication and significant time investment—perfect for premium 3D printing projects.

The scale disparity for the astronaut versus the third-party Moebius model possibly originates from the separate pod interior set that Kubrick used for the movie being larger than the interior shown when the pod with its hatch open was shot from outside. On a separate note, who knows where the rotating hab section fitted inside Discovery 1? There just doesn't seem to be room.

Well made! I could decimate it by a factor of 10 and convert it to OBJ, and it still looked good.
