Edmontosaurus was a large hadrosaurid dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 73 to 66 million years ago. Measuring up to 12 meters (39 feet) in length and weighing up to 4 metric tons, it was characterized by its duck-billed snout and toothless beak, ideal for cropping vegetation. Edmontosaurus had strong, sturdy limbs that allowed it to walk both bipedally and quadrupedally. Fossils of Edmontosaurus have been found primarily in North America, providing significant insights into the diverse ecosystems of the Late Cretaceous.
