Shenron, also known as the Earth Dragon, is a magical dragon in the Dragon Ball series. He is summoned when all seven of Earth's Dragon Balls are gathered, and his primary role is to grant one or more wishes to whoever calls him forth. Shenron first appears in the original Dragon Ball series created by Akira Toriyama and has since become one of the most iconic creatures in the Dragon Ball universe.

Shenron is enormous in size, with a long serpentine body, green scales, and red eyes. Despite his intimidating appearance, he is bound by specific rules, such as being unable to grant wishes that exceed the power of his creator, the Namekian Kami. Additionally, he cannot bring someone back to life more than once and cannot perform any act beyond the limitations of the universe itself.

Though Shenron is powerful, he is also respectful and polite, often addressing those who summon him with a formal tone. His wishes have played a critical role throughout the Dragon Ball series, from reviving key characters to altering the course of major events.

Shenron's role as the granter of wishes makes him central to many of the adventures in Dragon Ball, and the quest to find the Dragon Balls is a recurring theme throughout the franchise.
